Our life chart will help you to put into perspective how much of your life, in percentage terms, you will spend working and how much you will spend in retirement.

You must forget what of your life has been spent, as this can never be got back - you only have from today, until the day you die! I know that sounds a little bit dramatic, but it is the only sure thing in life, apart from taxes!

What I also would like to highlight to you is that, although retirement might represent a large proportion of your future life, you must remember that the older you get the less you will be able to do. Certainly, by the time you reach the ripe age of 70, you will be much more restricted in what you can do. I accept that certain people are still quite active in their 70's, I know my Father is, however, this is not always the case and you don't know if you are going to live this long.

The message that I would really like to get across to you here is - "Life is short and precious" please treat it that way and don't get stuck in a dead end job helping someone else to get rich, when you could be doing that for yourself, and having fun into the bargain!
